The all-rounder for every seed – Pneumatic Seeders from APV

APV’s Pneumatic Seeder combines agricultural expertise, technical precision and digital intelligence. It offers farms of all sizes a flexible, efficient and forward-looking solution – and delivers the seed exactly where it needs to be.

Precision, flexibility and control – for every business.

One system for all seeds and applications

APV’s pneumatic seeders are the universal solution for modern arable and grassland farms. Thanks to their modular design, they are suitable for all types of seed – from the finest small seeds to large-grained seeds – and for a wide range of applications such as cover crops, undersowing and overseeding, grass establishment, microgranules and specialist applications.

Making targeted use of different investment horizons

The APV seeder enables precise seed placement at various depths, tailored to the crop, soil and weather conditions:

  • Flat placement for fast-germinating crops
  • Deeper placement for coarse-grained crops or dry conditions
  • Flexible selection of the placement method:
    • Dispersion plates for even, wide-area application
    • Sowing shoes for precise, pinpoint placement – even behind cultivator tines

With our TWIN systems, you can sow seeds at both planting depths simultaneously!

Typical placement depths of individual components:

  • Phacelia: approx. 0.5–1 cm
  • Mustard: approx. 0.6–1.2 cm
  • Oil radish: approx. 1–2 cm (common in practice, similar to mustard)
  • Types of Clover: approx. 0.5–1 cm
  • Sunflower / Pea (coarse seed in mixture): 2–4 cm
  • Lupin: ca. 2-4 cm
  • Vetch: 3-5 cm

Why different placement horizons are so valuable:

  • optimised germination conditions for the various components of a mixture
  • better water utilization through staggered placement depth
  • reduced competition within the mixture
  • more consistent crop emergence in changing weather conditions
  • greater assurance of establishment, particularly for cover crops and undersown crops

For example, fine-grained crops can be sown close to the surface, whilst components with higher germination rates can be sown slightly deeper – a clear agronomic advantage that is directly evident in the crop stand.

Extensive range of accessories – maximum versatility

With an extensive range of accessories, every seeder can be tailored to your specific needs:

  • Platform kit
Ergonomic and safe access to the unit for filling, servicing and maintenance.
  • Y-divider & distributor heads
Flexible hose routing and even lateral distribution – even with varying working widths or twin configurations.
  • Air separator
Clean separation of air and seed for a smooth flow of material and precise metering.
  • Mounting kit for a second soil tillage implement
One seeder – two machines: maximum utilisation with minimum investment.
  • Fan upgrades
If the airflow is insufficient, it is easy to switch to a more powerful fan – which is particularly important when working with large working widths, fine seeds or at high driving speeds.
  • Hose couplings & blind outlets
Quick adjustment in the event of row closure or a change in working width – simple, clean and practical.
  • Sowing shoes kit
Precise seed placement in the soil:
    • precise depth control
    • uniform emergence
    • better youth development
    • particularly effective for reseeding and in difficult soil conditions

ISOBUS – full integration into Precision Farming

When used with the ISOBUS control system, the Pneumatic Seeder can be conveniently operated via the tractor’s existing terminal. This ensures maximum user-friendliness, clarity and data transparency.

Variable Rate Control – Seeds as required

With Variable Rate Control, the seed rate is automatically adjusted to application maps or soil zones whilst the machine is in motion. The result:

  • targeted use of seeds
  • Optimal stock density
  • less input for the same or better results

Efficient, resource-friendly and cost-effective.

Section Control – Precision right down to the headland

The optional Section Control automatically activates and deactivates sections – ideal for wedge-shaped areas, headlands and overlapping tracks. This prevents over-sowing and double sowing, saves seed and promotes uniform crop establishment.

What our TWIN systems can be used for

Our TWIN seeders enable:

  • simultaneous application of two different seeds
  • different seed rates or mixing ratios
  • top-quality solutions for cover crops, nurse crops and specialist mixtures
  • Combining sowing and application in a single pass

This saves time, reduces the number of trips and boosts efficiency – whilst offering maximum flexibility.

Fertilizer version – precise application, versatile in use

Our seeders are also available in a fertiliser version, opening up additional applications beyond simply sowing seeds.

What can be applied using the fertiliser version

  • classic mineral fertilizer
  • micronutrients
  • starter fertiliser
  • granulated or fine-grained fertiliser
  • Seed and fertiliser combinations (depending on the model)

The benefits for farmers

  • precise, even application
  • placement close to the plant, as required
  • lower losses, greater efficiency
  • Combining sowing and fertilisation in a single operation

This makes the fertiliser version ideal for modern, resource-efficient farming systems.
